Artificial grass, known by its more common name as Astroturf, is an increasingly popular choice of surface for many homes, schools, sport centers, and businesses. It’s taken a while for Astroturf to transcend its reputation as a badly colored, coarse, and kitschy replacement for natural grass, but the product has improved significantly over the years. The surfaces are water permeable, so they’re very easy to wash and clean. Easy cleaning means that there are no worries when keeping dogs on an Astroturf surface, since they can be clean up after normally but have the rest wash away into the soil beneath the synthetic grass. The design of new synthetic lawns is such, however, that weeds cannot grow up onto your lawn any longer.
When shopping for artificial grass, always check that the warrantee and product life are in sync with the expectations you have for the product. Artificial turf is subject to degradation over time, so plan accordingly. Likewise, there’s a wide selection of colors and length’s out there. There’s no excuse for choosing one that doesn’t fit your tastes exactly.
